What do you look for in a partner?

• Someone who keeps you warm?
• Someone who wraps around you?
• Someone who makes you feel good?
• Someone who makes you feel special?
• Someone who you have when you wouldn't want to be with anyone else?
• Someone who you can't travel without?
• Someone who makes days apart feel like months?
• Someone who if you lost, you would feel like a part of you was missing?

I have found that. I have found someone that makes me feel whole and who I can't live without. And it was definitely love at first sight.

I know, I know. "He" is definitely lacking a brain and has kind of an eccentric style - but I've never loved anything more.

I picked this sweatshirt up on a Summer morning in 2008 after having brunch with my friends following a night out. I desperately felt the need to cover up as my fabulous outfit from last night was a bit too airy for a Sunday morning.
Thus, we stopped in to Pac Sun looking like last night's garbage when I saw him across the way.
He was everything I ever wanted and I ran closer just to see him in all his glory: He was perfect. A feeling that quickly diminished after I looked at the $80 dollar price tag.

However, that feeling dissolved after I tried him on. He slipped on and was the perfect length over my arms and fit snug around the body.

Unlike most of his kind, he even zipped properly at the stomach instead of sliding past it and ending at the hips, which in hoody land = an air pooch that really just looks like a "you" pooch.

Autumn shots before the rain comes

Well as a photographer (albeit amateur one- that's me above at the Pumpkin Patch!), I like to think that I have developed (through trial and error and tireless effort) some level of skill that allows me to capture the beauty in something better through the lens of a camera than with my own eyes. However, there is a small window of opportunity in the Fall where I believe the scenery is so graceful and creates such a splendid canvas, that my Dog could take a picture with just as much artistic credibility as one snapped by Annie Leibovitz herself.

Yes, Fall has hit in Oregon and it has been an amazingly beautiful one at that. It's the time in October when we need to add an extra blanket to our bed but not yet ready to break out the emergency down comforter you keep behind the beach towels. So lately, I've been enjoying the sights, sounds and smells of Autumn.

Also, I hope it was noted that I just described Autumn without ever once describing it as "crisp", even though in doing so would instantly help the reader to understand what I am trying to depict. However, I took a Creative Writing Course at the University of Oregon and upon our first assignment, the Professor had 1 request: "Please do not use the word 'crisp' to describe a Fall day. It's played out, it's all anyone ever says to describe Fall and there are many other ways to send forth your notion."

That has stuck with me.
